We’re excited to announce Margaret Cavendish’s Mind Lab, a major new project at Bolsover Castle made possible thanks to a £248k grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Mind Lab project will invite visitors to explore Cavendish’s bold ideas through interactive activities, creative programmes and STEAM focused learning experiences, in partnership with the University of York, Junction Arts and Writing East Midlands (CIC).
Margaret Cavendish was one of the 17th century’s most brilliant and boundary-breaking thinkers: a philosopher, scientist, writer, and the author of The Blazing World, which is often credited as one of the earliest works of science fiction. This project celebrates her imagination, intellect, and extraordinary legacy.
